The City of Quinte West is asking residents, business owners and visitors to share their experiences with parking in downtown Trenton.
Beginning this week, the city has launched a public survey as part of its ongoing review of the “Park Here” downtown parking program.
The survey is the next step in evaluating the program, which currently provides free two-hour parking on downtown streets and unlimited free parking in municipally owned parking lots.
City officials say the feedback will help determine whether the current system is meeting the needs of the community and identify opportunities for improvement as Quinte West continues to grow.
“We know that ensuring positive parking experiences in our downtown and throughout the community plays an important role in supporting vibrancy in Quinte West,” said Carrie West, Supervisor of By-Law Enforcement.
The City of Quinte West currently provides approximately 425 parking spaces in the downtown Trenton core and surrounding business district. That includes about 148 on-street spaces and 277 spaces located within five municipal parking lots.
The “Park Here” program was introduced in January 2025 with the goal of improving access to local businesses, restaurants and services by encouraging turnover in high-demand on-street parking spaces while providing free long-term parking nearby.
Officials say public feedback will help staff better understand how residents and visitors are using downtown parking and whether adjustments may be needed in the future.
Community members have until July 6 to complete the survey.
The city says the results will be used to help shape future parking policies and improve the downtown experience for businesses, residents and visitors alike.
