The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is recognizing the efforts of Trenton Senior Citizens Club 105 after a recent fundraising event generated thousands of dollars for local healthcare.
The foundation says the club raised $4,552.85 through a two-day yard sale held May 29 and 30 at its Bay Street location in Trenton.
Funds raised through the event will help support priority equipment needs at Trenton Memorial Hospital, assisting the hospital in providing care for patients throughout Quinte West and the surrounding area.
Foundation Executive Director Lindsay Butcher-Dodds praised the volunteers and organizers who helped make the fundraiser a success.
“This was a true community effort,” said Butcher-Dodds. “The members of Trenton Senior Citizens Club 105 put a lot of time and effort into making this event happen, and we are thankful to them for supporting the hospital.”
The foundation also extended its appreciation to everyone who contributed to the fundraiser, including those who donated items for sale, volunteered their time and attended the event.
Officials say community-led initiatives such as yard sales, community events and grassroots fundraisers continue to play an important role in helping hospitals purchase needed equipment that may not be fully funded through government healthcare budgets.
The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation supports the hospital through fundraising efforts aimed at enhancing patient care and improving access to medical equipment and services.
