Drivers in Trenton will encounter a temporary road closure on Dundas Street East on Friday as construction crews complete work on a traffic control feature along the roadway.
The City of Quinte West says Dundas Street East will be closed to all through traffic between Ontario Street and Bay Street from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. on June 19.
The closure is required to allow work on the splitter island that separates eastbound and westbound lanes of traffic on that section of the road.
During the closure, detour routes will be in place for both directions of travel.
Eastbound motorists will be directed to travel east on Ontario Street, north on Hawley Street and then west on Bay Street before rejoining Dundas Street East.
Westbound traffic will be redirected west on Marmora Street, south on College Street and east on Ontario Street.
City officials are advising drivers to allow extra travel time and follow all posted detour signage while the work is underway.
The road is expected to reopen to traffic once construction activities are completed later in the afternoon.
