Some Hydro One customers in Quinte West’s Sidney Ward will experience a planned power outage overnight Thursday as crews carry out scheduled maintenance.
The outage is set to begin at 11 p.m. on June 25 and is expected to last until 4 a.m. on June 26. Hydro One says the interruption will affect neighbourhoods in the west end of Sidney Ward.
Affected customers have been notified directly through Hydro One’s automated phone system. Residents can also find information through Hydro One’s outage map by selecting the “future planned outages” option or by contacting the utility’s customer service line.
Hydro One is advising customers to prepare in advance by turning off appliances and ensuring mobile devices are fully charged before the outage begins.
The utility is also reminding residents to keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed during the outage to help preserve food and reduce the risk of spoilage.
Planned outages are typically scheduled to allow crews to safely complete maintenance and infrastructure work aimed at improving reliability across the electricity system.
