Northumberland County is inviting residents to learn more about an upcoming infrastructure project that will replace the Killoran Creek culvert on County Road 25 in Hastings.
A public information session is scheduled for Thursday, July 2, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hastings Public Library.
County staff and project representatives will provide an overview of the planned work, including the construction timeline, expected traffic impacts, detour routes and measures being taken to maintain safety while minimizing disruption.
The Killoran Creek culvert is located on County Road 25, approximately 50 metres south of County Road 45.
According to the county, ongoing inspections and engineering assessments identified deterioration and erosion of the existing structure, making replacement necessary to ensure the long-term safety and reliability of the roadway.
The project will involve removing the existing culvert and installing new infrastructure designed to serve the community for years to come.
Construction will require a temporary closure of County Road 25 in the project area. During the closure, a signed detour will direct motorists along County Road 45, Concession Road 8 West and County Road 25 south of Hastings.
Residents, businesses and regular road users are encouraged to attend the information session to ask questions and learn more about how the project will be carried out.
Northumberland County says updates on construction, traffic impacts and project progress will continue to be shared through its communication channels as work moves forward.
