After a successful promotional event at Ed’s House last week, organizers are now turning their attention to the main event: the 30th Annual Lakeside Antique and Classic Car Show, taking place Saturday, July 11th at Victoria Park in Cobourg.
Hosted by the Great Pine Ridge Region of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada, the free event regularly attracts more than 200 antique and classic vehicles dating back more than a century. Visitors can enjoy everything from beautifully restored automobiles to food vendors, a silent auction and a 50/50 draw, with proceeds supporting Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre.
Joel Scott says the partnership between the car club and Ed’s House has exceeded expectations.
Scott says those donations are especially important because community fundraising is essential to keeping hospice services available.
Beyond the ten-suite residential hospice, Ed’s House also provides clinical navigation, visiting hospice, grief and bereavement support, and other community-based services for individuals and families facing life-limiting illness. For every family receiving end-of-life care at Ed’s House, several more receive support in the community through its hospice programs.
Scott says the July 11 event offers visitors a great way to support Ed’s House while also providing a day for everyone to enjoy, whether they’re lifelong car enthusiasts or simply looking for a great family outing.
The Lakeside Antique and Classic Car Show runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, at Victoria Park in Cobourg. Vehicle registration is $10, admission for spectators is free, and all proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre. The show is open to vehicles at least 20 years old that have not been obviously modified.
