The City of Quinte West says collective bargaining continues with the union representing more than 145 municipal employees.
The current collective agreement with CUPE Local 799.3, which represents inside and outside workers, expired on March 31, 2026.
City officials say representatives from both sides recently met with a provincially appointed conciliator as part of the bargaining process.
Following those discussions, the City and CUPE have agreed to continue negotiations in the coming weeks.
The City says it remains committed to bargaining in good faith while working toward a fair and reasonable agreement that balances the interests of employees, taxpayers and the broader community.
Officials say specific details of the negotiations will not be released while discussions are ongoing in an effort to support a productive bargaining process.
For residents, the City says it’s business as usual.
Quinte West says all municipal services continue to operate normally, and no service disruptions are anticipated at this time.
The City adds that any future developments in the bargaining process will be shared through its official communication channels, including its website, as appropriate.
