From edible story time to pirates and local history, the Brighton Public Library has a full calendar of activities planned throughout July.
The month’s programming is designed to engage readers of all ages while offering opportunities to learn, create and connect with the community.
A new program called Snack Lab invites children ages eight to 12 to enjoy hands-on food activities inspired by stories.
CEO Heather Ratz says it’s a fun new addition to the library’s summer programming.
History enthusiasts will also have an opportunity to meet local author Dan Buchanan during the launch of his latest book, The Bateau Railway, on July 16. The drop-in event will include book sales through Lighthouse Books, opportunities to ask questions and book signings.
Families can also look forward to the return of Captain Corbin the Magical Pirate on July 25.
The July calendar also includes Song and Story Hour in King Edward Park, Knit Cetera, take-home craft kits, and the library’s Summer Reading Club programming.
Ratz says the library continues to provide a welcoming, air-conditioned community space where residents can read, learn, attend programs or simply spend time together throughout the summer.
