Belleville Police responded to 106 calls for service between the morning of July 14 and July 15, with two assault investigations among the more serious incidents.
Late Tuesday evening, officers were called to the Pinnacle Street area following reports of a disturbance.
Police say three youths approached a female and became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when one of the youths allegedly punched the victim before the group left the area.
Following an investigation, a 16-year-old Belleville female was located and arrested. She has been charged with assault and released on an undertaking with an August court date. Her identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
In a separate investigation, Belleville Police charged a 31-year-old Belleville man following a report of intimate partner violence.
Police say the incident occurred on July 13 while a man and woman were travelling together in a vehicle. During an argument, investigators allege the man punched the woman in the face while she was driving and pulled her hair.
The accused was arrested and charged with assault – spousal before being released on an undertaking with a scheduled court appearance in August.
Belleville Police do not identify individuals charged in intimate partner violence investigations in order to protect the identity of the complainant.
