The Brighton Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police will be temporarily closed to the public on Wednesday due to scheduled building maintenance.
Northumberland OPP says police services will continue uninterrupted during the closure, with frontline officers remaining available to respond to calls for service.
Residents who require in-person assistance during regular business hours can visit either the Cobourg OPP Detachment at 1165 Division Street or the Campbellford OPP Detachment at 20 Industrial Drive.
A notice will be posted at the Brighton Detachment entrance advising visitors of the temporary closure. The outdoor OPP telephone located at the detachment will remain operational and available for public use throughout the closure.
Police remind residents that immediate assistance should be requested by calling 9-1-1. For non-emergency police matters, residents can contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
The Brighton Detachment is expected to reopen and resume normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday.
