The City of Quinte West is preparing to launch a new community festival aimed at celebrating local music, food and entertainment.
Fusion Fest will take place September 19 from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Trent Port Marina and surrounding grounds in Trenton.
Admission will be free, and organizers say the event is intended to bring residents and visitors together for a full day of entertainment on the Bay of Quinte waterfront.
The festival lineup includes live performances from Moon Sugar Band and The Covernotes Band, along with appearances by other local musicians.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy food and beverages from regional vendors, free miniature golf, a vendor village and entertainment from stilt walkers and costumed performers.
The city says the event is intended to showcase local creativity and highlight the area’s businesses, artists and food producers.
Organizers are currently accepting applications from vendors interested in participating in the festival.
Municipal officials say the event offers businesses an opportunity to showcase their products to residents and visitors while taking advantage of the heavy foot traffic expected along the waterfront.
Space will be limited in order to ensure a wide variety of food, beverage and merchandise options.
Fusion Fest will take place rain or shine, and organizers say additional details will be released as the event approaches.
