A Quinte-area paramedic who disappeared while attending a music festival in British Columbia has been found safe.
Salmo RCMP confirmed Friday that 28-year-old Kayla Boisvert of Trenton has been located following a days-long search.
Boisvert, who works with Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services, had last been seen at approximately 2:15 a.m. Monday at the Shambhala Music Festival near Salmo, B.C.
Police received a report of a possible sighting on Wednesday evening, prompting investigators to release updated photographs and a revised description of the clothing she was believed to be wearing.
An Instagram account created to assist with the search announced Friday morning that Boisvert had been found. The family has requested privacy as she returns home.
In a statement, RCMP thanked members of the public, search and rescue personnel and other partner agencies whose efforts helped advance the investigation.
Police have not released any additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
A fundraising campaign launched to help family members travel to British Columbia during the search raised approximately $20,000 before donations were closed.
