Northumberland OPP have laid charges following several unrelated incidents across the region over the weekend.
On Saturday, August 15, officers responded to a two-vehicle collision on Main Street in Brighton at approximately 1:40 p.m. EMS also attended for possible injuries.
After speaking with one of the drivers, officers began an impaired driving investigation. Further investigation resulted in additional charges.
Carolyn Robia, 53, of Colborne, is facing charges including impaired operation by alcohol and drugs, dangerous operation, driving with a suspended licence, driving without insurance and several other vehicle-related offences.
No serious injuries were reported. The accused is scheduled to appear in Cobourg in September. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and 45-day vehicle impoundment were also imposed.
Earlier that day, shortly after midnight, OPP received a call about concerns for the well-being of a family member who was driving on County Road 25 in Cramahe.
Officers located a matching vehicle on County Road 30 in Brighton and arrested the driver following an impaired driving investigation.
A 34-year-old man from Manvers Township is facing charges including impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, impaired operation by alcohol and drugs, and operation while prohibited. He also received a 90-day licence suspension and 45-day vehicle impoundment.
Meanwhile, on August 13, officers were verifying an individual’s compliance with a court order on Bridge Street West in Trent Hills when a disturbance occurred.
Michael Dingman, 60, of Campbellford, has been charged with causing a disturbance and failing to comply with a probation order. He was held to appear in court in Cobourg.
