People visiting Quinte West City Hall and the Trenton library branch are being asked to plan ahead as construction related to the Trenton trunk sewer project moves into the next phase.
Work in the City Hall parking lot is scheduled to begin today, August 26, and continue into the fall.
The City says a reduced number of public parking spaces will be available at City Hall during construction. Accessible parking spaces will remain available for permit holders.
Additional overflow parking is available at the Creswell parking lot, while the electric vehicle charging stations in the City Hall parking lot will be temporarily unavailable.
Access to City Hall through Quinte Street will also be closed. Visitors will instead be able to reach City Hall from Creswell Drive through the Trent Port Marina entrance.
A new three-way stop and crosswalk is being installed at the main entrance to the Creswell parking lot. The crossing is intended to provide a safer route for pedestrians heading to City Hall and the Trenton library branch.
People using the overflow parking lot are asked to use the designated crosswalk and follow the sidewalk along the east side of Creswell Drive to reach the municipal facilities.
The City is encouraging anyone attending meetings, events or accessing services at City Hall or the Trenton library branch to allow extra time for travel.
The Trenton library branch is located at 7 Creswell Drive in Trenton.
