Quinte West residents are being encouraged to make sure they are registered to vote ahead of the 2026 municipal election.
The City is asking eligible voters to check that their information is correct on the voters list now, making it easier to cast a ballot when voting begins next month.
Residents can check, update or add their information online through the City’s voter list portal at QuinteWestVotes.ca/VotersList. Voters can also call the election helpline at 1-343-303-0831 or visit Quinte West City Hall at 7 Creswell Drive in Trenton.
To be eligible to vote, residents must be Canadian citizens, at least 18 years old and either live in Quinte West or own or rent property in the city.
Eligible voters whose names are on the voters list will receive a voter information letter in the mail by October 7. The letter will include important election information, a unique PIN and instructions for online voting.
This year’s municipal election will see residents vote for mayor, ward councillors and school board trustees.
Voting opens Wednesday, October 14 at 10 a.m. and continues until Monday, October 26 at 8 p.m.
Eligible voters will be able to cast their ballots online throughout the voting period. In-person advance voting will also be available October 14, 17 and 20, followed by Election Day voting on October 26.
The City says residents can find candidate information, voting locations and additional election details at QuinteWestVotes.ca.
