An injured canoeist has been rescued from a remote area near Moon River, Ont., with help from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton.
The JRCC says a CH-146 Griffon helicopter from 8 Wing Trenton carried out the rescue Sunday. The aircraft hoisted the injured canoeist from the area and transported the person safely to hospital for medical treatment.
No word as yet as to the cause of the injury nor the extent of the injuries sustained.
