Belleville police have charged a 42-year-old Quinte West man following a reported domestic dispute involving a woman and a child.
Officers were called to a west-end Belleville residence around 6:55 p.m. Tuesday after a verbal argument between a man and woman allegedly became physical.
Police say the man damaged a door while trying to enter a room, then punched the woman. He later left the room and allegedly struck his 12-year-old child.
Investigators also learned of an earlier incident that week in which the man allegedly damaged a door and pushed the woman.
The man faces two counts each of mischief and spousal assault, along with one count of assault.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
