Keith Poulin says 27 years of professional and community experience have prepared him for the opportunity to serve on Quinte West council. He is running in Sidney Ward 2 and says his goal is to be a strong voice for residents while working to address the challenges facing families across the community.
Priorities and Experience
Poulin spent 12 years owning and operating his own business before becoming involved in the labour movement, where he served as a union chairperson and participated on committees, councils and executive boards. He also spent almost five years operating a food bank as a warehouse manager and director, working directly with people in the community who needed assistance.
Poulin says those experiences have shown him the financial pressures facing working families, seniors and people with disabilities, particularly as the costs of groceries, housing, utilities and taxes continue to rise. Affordability is one of his key priorities. He says he would closely examine municipal spending, look for opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs and consider ways to ease financial pressures on residents.
Why Quinte West
Poulin says he wants to work for all residents of Sidney Ward 2 and Quinte West, while ensuring people feel heard, respected and represented. His approach, he says, is based on hard work, listening and finding practical solutions.
