David Lovely is a lifelong resident of Quinte West who says his roots in the community and observations of its growth have motivated him to seek a seat on council. A self-described small-town person, Lovely says he believes in working hard, thinking practically and contributing to the community rather than simply talking about its challenges.
Priorities and Vision
Lovely says one of his priorities is supporting the continued growth and vitality of Quinte West while ensuring the city’s traditional downtown remains an important part of the community. He recalls a time when Main Street was consistently busy and storefronts were full, and says supporting existing downtown businesses should remain an important consideration as the city expands.
He says he wants Quinte West to remain a place where people can grow and thrive, while recognizing the opportunities that come with development beyond the downtown core. If elected to represent Murray Ward, Lovely says he would also work with the interests of the entire city in mind.
Why Quinte West
Lovely was born and raised in the area, as were members of his family. He says watching Quinte West flourish and grow has given him a personal connection to the community and an appreciation for its evolution.
Lovely says he is not a politician, but someone who is prepared to work, get involved and use his hands when necessary to help make a difference.
