Trevor McMillan is a lifelong Quinte West resident and longtime community volunteer who says running for elected office has been a personal aspiration for more than 15 years. Having grown up in the community and raised his own family there, McMillan says he wants to give back to the community that has played an important role in his personal and professional life.
Experience and Priorities
McMillan points to more than two decades of experience in manufacturing, culinary arts, health care and business management. He began his career as an automotive and aerospace machine operator and union steward before pursuing culinary training and earning his Red Seal certification. He later worked in the health-care sector, managing a team of 20 front-line staff.
Since 2018, McMillan has worked as a Territory Manager with a Fortune 500 chemical and water solutions company, overseeing a portfolio valued at approximately $1.2 million. He says his experience in fiscal responsibility, strategic planning and leadership would help him contribute to council.
McMillan has also been involved in local baseball as an umpire, coach and executive committee member. He currently serves as chair of Quinte West’s Property Standards Committee.
Why Quinte West
McMillan says his lifelong connection to Quinte West, along with the opportunity to raise his family there, has given him a strong appreciation for the community and a desire to help shape its future.
