Three people are facing charges following an investigation into suspected contraband at Warkworth Institution.
Northumberland OPP say officers were contacted Oct. 6 after a correctional officer reported a package believed to contain contraband had been brought onto the property by visitors for delivery.
Marina Johnson, 65, and Desiree Torrance, 49, both of Barrie, are charged with delivering contraband to, or receiving it from, an inmate. Torrance also faces a probation breach charge, while Eric Johnson, 53, faces a charge of possessing contraband beyond a penitentiary’s visitor control point.
All three are scheduled to appear in Cobourg’s Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
