The Municipality of Brighton says some voter information letters were returned because they contained outdated rural mailing addresses.
According to the municipality’s official election website, some affected letters included older address formats using RR4 and SS8. Municipal staff have updated the addresses and readdressed the letters.
Online voting opened Oct. 19 and continues until 8 p.m. Oct. 26.
Calls into the The Municipality have been made asking to clarify how many letters were returned, how many have been successfully redelivered and what residents should do if they still have not received their voting personal identification number.
Further information will be provided when it becomes available.
