High school students across Northumberland County are being invited to showcase their creativity in a juried art exhibition organized by the Brighton Arts & Culture Council.
“Hidden Northumberland: Emerging Visions” runs Oct. 26 to Nov. 1 at Northumberland Fine Foods, 39 Richardson St. in Brighton. The exhibition will feature original works in a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, sculpture, digital art and mixed media.
Wendy Rayson-Kerr, curator of the John M. Parrott Art Gallery in Belleville, will judge the submissions and provide feedback to help students develop their artistic skills and portfolios.
The exhibition is open to students attending Northumberland County high schools, including those in home-schooling programs. Three awards will be presented: Juror’s Choice, People’s Choice and President’s Choice.
An opening reception is scheduled for Oct. 26, with further details to be announced.
