Zvonko Horvat will be Ward 6’s next representative on Norfolk County council, according to unofficial election results.
Horvat won the four-candidate race against Ray Hunter, Bill Jukes and Pam Taylor. He will replace Adam Veri, who ran for mayor rather than seeking re-election in Ward 6.
During the campaign, Horvat said he would draw on his experience with Norfolk OPP and Aylmer Police to scrutinize the municipal budget and keep costs down for taxpayers.
He also advocated a greater focus on tourism as an economic driver for Port Dover and the surrounding community.
The results remain unofficial pending confirmation by the Norfolk County Clerk.
