An 18-year-old man is facing several charges following an incident involving a person with a knife at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Quinte West OPP responded to the hospital shortly after 9 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2026, after receiving reports of an individual armed with a knife.
Officers established a containment area and conducted an extensive search, with assistance from the OPP Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and remotely piloted aircraft system.
The individual was located and taken into custody without further incident.
The 18-year-old Quinte West resident faces charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, intimidation of a health services professional and failing to comply with a release order.
