Arena users in Alnwick/Haldimand Township will have to wait a little longer before returning to the ice.
The township has announced a minor delay in the renovation project at the Haldimand Community Memorial Arena, pushing back its anticipated reopening date by just over a week.
Originally scheduled to welcome skaters and other users back on November 15, the arena is now expected to reopen on Monday, November 23.
Township officials say staff are working closely with contractors to coordinate the remaining work and ensure the facility is ready for the upcoming ice season.
The municipality has not provided specific details about what caused the delay but says the project is entering its final stages.
A formal reopening announcement, along with additional details about the return of arena programming, will be released once the remaining work is completed and a date is finalized.
