Overdoes on the rise in the HKPR district.
According to the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit, overdoses are going up and they’ve issued an alert for people to take precautions when using drugs.
Catherine MacDonald, Substances and Harm Reduction Coordinator, stated that recent overdoses are not concentrated in any one area of the region and are not limited to any one age group.
One of the main ways to reduce the risk of overdoses, is not to use alone.
And keep a naloxone kit on hand. You can a kit at most pharmacies or needle exchange sites.
