This week is Ontario’s Annual Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week
Carbon Monoxide is the leading cause of unintentional poisoning in the province.
The Technical Standards and Safety Association are letting folks know about the preventative measures to help prevent CO incidents which cost our healthcare system upwards of 2 and a half billion dollars annually.
Exposure to carbon monoxide can cause flu-like symptoms such as headaches, nausea, dizziness and confusion, drowsiness, loss of consciousness and death.
You should test CO and fire alarms every month to be sure batteries and units are in working correctly.
