There’ll be fun for all ages at this year’s Winterfest presented by Experience Cobourg and sponsored by Reconnect Ontario and Loyalist College.
You can check out the ice sculptures around town, do some shopping, grab a bite of take out and head down for some skating at the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink, visit with Sparky the Fire Dog, try your hand at Axe Throwing and more.
Cobourg’s Manager of Culture Jackie Chapman Davis told us more.
Jackie told us that due to weather issues, the fireworks scheduled for First Night will be presented during Winterfest.
According to Chapman Davis, the downtown area should be buzzing with activity.
This is a great way to support local business as well.
Here’s a complete listing of what’s going on:
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.:
Enjoy skating on the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink (37 Albert Street) accompanied by a DJ, with a special appearance from Sparky the Fire Dog
Horse and wagon rides around town, departing from Rotary Habourfront Park
Warriors Axe Throwing will be on-site at the Park
7 p.m.: Cheer on the Cobourg Cougars at their home game vs. Burlington at the Cobourg Community Centre! Tickets are available at the door.
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.: Neon skating party at the Rotary Harbourfront Outdoor Rink with a live DJ spinning the tunes.
9 p.m.: View fireworks over the harbour (rescheduled from New Year’s Eve).
