Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for all of Northumberland, Quinte West and Belleville region.
Wind chill values of minus 35 to minus 40 this morning, moderating during the day today. Wind chill values of minus 35 to minus 40 will return again tonight and continue into Saturday morning. Frostbite is a risk under these conditions.
Prolonged exposure to extreme cold can be dangerous especially for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter.
Dress warmly. Dress in layers that you can remove if you get too warm. The outer layer should be wind resistant
