Peterborough Musicfest unveiled most of its lineup for this summer at Del Crary Park during a gathering Wednesday (May 24th) at the Silver Bean Café.
Added to those shows previously announced – Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy (July 1st), Dwayne Gretzky (July 5th) and Little River Band (July 26th) – are headliners Matt Andersen, Five Alarm Funk, Jesse Cook, Ennismore’s Melissa Payne and Friends, The British Legends Tribute, Glass Tiger, and Tim & The Glory Boys, the latter closing the festival’s 36th season on August 19th. Four acts are yet to be announced pending confirmation of provincial grant funding.
Musicfest General Manager Tracey Randall says pulling the festival lineup together is always challenge and this year is no different.
Reflecting on the 1987 founding of Musicfest by the late Fred Anderson, Randall notes the board is committed to it remaining a free admission festival.
Musicfest Board Chair Tracy Condon adds the expectation is this years festival will build on the momentum of 2022’s return after a two-year pandemic necessitated absence.
