As Canada Day is a federal statutory holiday, all government offices and services and liquor stores are closed, with a few beer stores open in selected locations.
Beer Store in Cobourg will be open from 11 am to 6 pm
Sobey’s on Main Street will be open as usual, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Brighton Drug Mart will be closed.
Garbage pickup moved to the next day…Monday on Tuesday….
Most grocery stores and large retailers are open as are most drug stores and pharmacies;
Shoppers Drug Marts in Cobourg and Port Hope will operate from 8 am to 10 pm
As with any holiday, it’s always best to call before you set out to confirm locations are open.
In Brighton you can head over to King Edward Park for a day of free, family friendly activities like face painting, bouncy castles and a kids fishing pond (with prizes!)
You can end the night off with a bang, with fireworks at dusk.
