This yearly celebration of the arts returns to Port Hope on August 12th from 10 am to 4 pm.
Event Coordinator Jeannie Maidens gave us a rundown on this years offerings.
Once again this year “Art around Town” can be found in shop windows from August 1st to the 14th featuring the works of 18 local artists.
This Saturday, you can enjoy a 10-minute play, live music, art around town and more during the Port Hope Arts Festival
According to Maidens, theatre lovers will really enjoy the return of the 10-minute play series.
There will also be activities for the kids, art on display, wagon rides and other fun surprises from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
“The Port Hope Arts Festival is truly a celebration of the incredible culture we have here in Port Hope and Northumberland County” notes Mayor Olena Hankivsky. “This annual celebration has many colourful interactive activities, displays, and performances for the whole family. It demonstrates the talents and creativity of the people in our community and allows the Port Hope Arts Scene to shine.”
Memorial Park will be the hub of interactive activities for the whole family as well.
Maidens told us more about “Art around Town”.
Ganaraska Art and Framing will also host a variety of artists at their exhibit as well.
Maidens also told us Critical Mass Art’s Thinking Beyond the Blue Box will feature artists of all ages, abilities and skill levels.
