Join in the fun at the 15th Anniversary of the YMCA Northumberland’s Strong Kids, this Friday August 25th.
The Duathlon raises funds to ensure the YMCA continues to strengthen our communities through programs focused on improving health and well-being throughout Northumberland County. This family friendly, child duathlon is attended and sponsored by many Northumberland families and businesses, bringing together like minded community supporters to raise awareness and funds to support the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign.
YMCA’s Kathryn Harrison told us more about the event.
You’ll have the chance to witness the determination, and spirit of some young athletes as they conquer a combined running and swimming challenge.
YMCA’s Kim Jaye told us these youngsters will have your heart racing.
All children from 3 to 15 years old can register – membership is not required.
According to Harrison, this is an event that kids look forward to every year.
The race will also be helping support the Strong Communities campaign, helping everyone have access to YMCA programs and services.
And some of the funds raised on the day will also help provide swimming lessons and lifeguard training.
