The Quinte West Professional Firefighters Association Local 1328 (QWPFFA) has launched the 32nd annual Quinte West Coats for Kids program. This initiative collects and distributes new and gently-used kids’ winter outerwear to keep children in the Quinte West community warm during winter.
Residents can contribute by donating coats, snow pants, hats, mitts, or making monetary donations at Quinte West Fire Station 1, 49 Dixon St., Trenton, 24/7 throughout the year. In 2022, over 350 coats were distributed.
QWPFFA President Jay Coxwell emphasized the importance of community support and mentioned the program’s tradition since 1991.
Parents in need of winter outerwear for their children can book an appointment with Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services at 613-392-6557 for pickup, with proof of identification required.
