The Quinte West Chamber of Commerce and the Santa Claus parade are organizing this year’s 70th Anniversary of the Trenton Santa Claus Parade. The parade will be on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 4:30 pm and is dedicated to a long-term parade volunteer, Bryan Swartman.
Make sure to bundle up to see all the floats built by local businesses, organizations and service clubs. There will also be bands from across the region as they play some Christmas favorites for the community to enjoy.
Morgan Scott, Special Events Coordinator at the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce says they’re expecting a big year.
This year, the parade committee of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce is dedicating the parade to a longtime volunteer, Bryan Swartman. Bryan has retired from the parade after being our Parade Marshall for close to 40 years. He assisted with the float line-up, the behind the scenes logistics.
“The Santa Claus Parade does not happen without the dedicated volunteers behind the scenes,” said Suzanne Andrews, CEO at the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce in a recent statement. “Bryan has been leading the efforts of the volunteer fire fighters and other volunteers for so many years and his efforts are truly appreciated, we are pleased to be able to honour his impact this way.”
Morgan Scott tells us about the labour he’s done.
The parade will leave Centennial Park at 4:30 pm, make its way up Campbell St, and then follow Dundas Street East, over the bridge and through downtown around 5:00 pm.
Scott is asking residents to bring your letters to Santa, donatable toys and non-perishable food items.
Address your Santa letter to Santa Claus, North Pole, HOH OHO Canada and include your return address too.
The parade is financially supported by the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce, City of Quinte West, and the following parade sponsors: Salon Eleven, McDonalds Trenton, Seasons Dufferin Centre, Trinity Fire and Security, Batawa Ski Hill, Scott’s Haulage & Excavating Ltd, Trenton Cold Storage, and Whitley Newman Financial Services. Cash donations have been also been received from the local business community.
Don’t forget to vote after the parade for the Salon Eleven People’s Choice Award for your favourite float. You can vote online at New tab (quintewestchamber.ca).
