Quinte West OPP say police and the Office of the Fire Marshal are investigating after a person was found dead after a residential fire.
Emergency crews, including police and Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services, responded to a fire at a residence on Heron Lane in Kenron Estates shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, reported OPP.
“Firefighters located one individual inside and attempted life-saving (measures),” said police.
A 60-year-old man who lived in the residence was pronounced deceased at the scene by Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services, added police.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted, noted police.
The investigation is continuing with help from OPP’s forensic identification services unit and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Centre of Forensic Sciences, said police.
