Northumberland OPP say they’ve laid charges after a two-vehicle crash in Trent Hills.
On Thursday, March 7, police confirmed a North York resident was facing charges after the night prior at about 9 p.m. emergency crews responded to a report of a collision between two passenger vehicles on County Road 25 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
Following an impaired operation investigation, police said one driver was arrested at the scene and transported to an area detachment for further testing. The driver of the second vehicle was treated by paramedics prior to going to hospital for minor injuries, reported police.
A 32-year-old North York resident was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – and operate a motor vehicle without insurance.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused also received a 90-day administrative driver licence suspension and their vehicle impounded for seven days, reported police. The accused will appear in Cobourg court at a future date, added police.
Police continue to remind drivers no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.
