The City of Quinte West says the ball is in the public’s court when it comes to the future of Tuckers Corners courts.
The city said it’s upgrading the existing tennis and basketball courts at the site and hopes residents will help guide future development for multi-sport courts.
The city is calling on people to weigh in with ideas and input on how to use new courts at the site. The plan is to undertake this work this year.
“To help guide the design and construction of this project, we want to hear from you on how you do – or would use – these courts, and what you envision for the future of the park at Tuckers Corners,” said the city.
Tuckers Corners is located at the intersection of Wallbridge/Vermilyea Road and Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in Sidney Ward. It’s also home to a baseball diamond.
Residents can weigh in and share ideas on the future of the courts by taking part in a survey until April 30, 2024. More information about how to get involved is also available via quintewest.ca/TuckersCorners.
In 2024, the city also has plans to start its parks and recreation master plan to guide further investment. This process will also involve public consultation, noted the city.
