An investigation is continuing into a fatal collision on Picton’s Main Street, say Prince Edward County OPP.
On Thursday, April 4, Prince Edward County OPP said their investigation into the crash that happened earlier this week on Monday before 3 p.m. was ongoing.
Officers said they responded to a single-vehicle crash on Main Street near Paul Street .
Information obtained stated the 71-year-old driver was unconscious, reported police, on Thursday.
The individual was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased, confirmed police, adding preliminary information shows the individual had a medical episode prior to the crash.
While responding to the collision, a police cruiser was also struck on its driver side, said police. There were no injuries to either driver, added police.
Police are continuing to urge drivers to be aware of emergency vehicles responding to emergencies. Vehicles are directed to pull to the right when directed by emergency crews or vehicles.
