There’s a dose of good news going around for residents in need of a family doctor in Brighton or Trenton.
In a recent notice, the Municipality of Brighton stated Dr. Stephen Evans’ office is providing an opportunity for residents to be placed on their roster.
While this doesn’t guarantee a spot, it appears to be a shot at one.
According to the municipality, forms to register will be available at the medical office at 22 Dundas St., Brighton, on Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon.
“These forms can be filled out on the day of or take them home to be completed and returned later in the week,” reads the notice.
However, officials are urging residents to not come to the office before these dates — this is to minimize disruption to patient care.
“Completing a form does not guarantee a spot on the roster.”
Information residents should have prepared to complete forms include a medical history to attach to application forms.
It’s also highly-recommended residents ensure their health card numbers are accurate when recording information on the form.
According to a Docs by the Bay announcement back in September 2021, Evans returned to this area after 20 years of practising in the Ottawa area, where he also managed several large clinics.
But before this, he spent nearly 10 years in Trenton as a family physician, including three years as a flight surgeon for 8 Wing/CFB Trenton, as well as provided care in the Trenton and Belleville emergency departments.
There was a grand-opening celebration held for his clinic in 2023.
More information is also available via the Trenton-Brighton medical clinic website.
