During Canada Road Safety Week, OPP officers in East Region were busy, issuing 2,278 charges for various offenses like speeding, stunt driving, and impaired driving.
The initial results include:
Speeding – 1,522
Stunt Driving – 41
Impaired charges – 55
Carless Driving – 19
Distracted Driving – 22
Seatbelt charges – 96
The OPP’s commitment to road safety will continue throughout the summer, targeting aggressive, distracted, and impaired driving, along with seatbelt enforcement.
With aerial support from the OPP Aviation Services plane, officers plan to maintain a watchful eye on highways and local roads.
