One year later, the death of a child while attending daycare in Baltimore, north of Cobourg, remains under investigation.
Earlier this year, friends and family of Vienna held a rally in remembrance on what would have been her third birthday.
Northumberland OPP released a statement on Friday, May 24, 2024, saying the investigation that started on May 25, 2023 is ongoing, and the OPP remains committed to completing a detailed and thorough investigation into the details surrounding this death.
“In order to protect the integrity of this investigation, no further information or details can be shared at this time.”
The statement also says that the Northumberland OPP crime unit and Central Region forensic identification services (FIS) continue to investigate with assistance from Central Region OPP regional support team under the direction of the OPP criminal investigation branch in conjunction with the Officer of the Chief Coroner.
For family and friends, the wait for answers continues, as does any hope of closure.
