Quinte West OPP say they’ve laid multiple charges after responding to a traffic complaint regarding a possible impaired motorcycle rider.
Early Tuesday, May 28, 2024, police said they were dispatched following the complaint. Officers subsequently located the bike and attempted to stop it but allege “the rider failed to stop and fled the location in a dangerous and reckless manner.”
The rider was located a short time later and was taken into custody, reported police.
As a result of an investigation, police said a 32-year-old Quinte West resident was charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act.
Police said the accused was charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, operate while prohibited, operate conveyance while impaired by alcohol, refusal to comply with a demand, fail to comply with probation order, drive while under suspension, fail to apply for permit upon being owner, and use plate not in accordance with act.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
According to OPP, the accused was found to be prohibited from driving anywhere in Canada.
