Shane Jarvis, the owner of Cobourg-based Lakeland Multi-Trade, says he owes his life to Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH).
In 2017, when he fell ill and was rushed to NHH, he didn’t realize the severity of his condition. However, the hospital’s dedicated team of healthcare professionals worked tirelessly to save him.
Grateful for their exceptional care, Jarvis decided to give back by joining the NHH Foundation’s Exceptional Community, Exceptional Care campaign. As a matching donor, Lakeland Multi-Trade has pledged to match staff contributions dollar-for-dollar, effectively doubling the impact of the campaign.
Recently, hospital staff raised nearly $17,000, which will be matched by Lakeland Multi-Trade and go towards funding redevelopment, new programs, and life-saving equipment at NHH.
For Jarvis, this campaign is personal. Having grown up in the community and witnessed the evolution of the hospital over the years, he understands the importance of ensuring quality healthcare remains accessible locally. Through his involvement, Jarvis hopes to inspire others to support NHH and demonstrate appreciation for the dedicated staff who work tirelessly to care for the community.
