
Belleville police say an investigation is continuing after the upper unit of a multi-unit residence was “fully engulfed” in fire.
According to the Belleville Police Service, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at about 7:36 p.m., police and fire responded to a multi-unit residence on Coleman Street, “where the upper unit was fully engulfed in fire.”
“Belleville fire safely evacuated all of the units within the building,” said police, adding there were no reported injuries.
Fire prevention officers also attended the scene. On Thursday morning, police said the fire remains under investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office, with assistance from the police service’s criminal investigation division and forensic investigative services.
Police remained on-scene Thursday preserving scene continuity, added the service.

No other details were released.
