A co-ordinated effort between Peel Regional Police, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division, and Northumberland OPP resulted in the recovery of three stolen vehicles on Hwy. 401, say OPP.
Peel Regional Police had requested assistance to stop a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound toward Port Hope. The vehicle was intercepted by police near the Township of Hamilton just after 3 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2024, where the driver, a 64-year-old man from Mississauga, was arrested, said police.
The accused was charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000, and driving while under suspension. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a future date.
