
Labour Day is a federal statutory holiday falling on the first Monday of September.
Since Labour Day is a holiday, all government offices and services and all liquor stores will be closed, although a few beer stores are open.
Cobourg
Municipal offices and buildings, including Victoria Hall, the Cobourg Community Centre, the Cobourg Public Library, Public Works Building 7 and the Venture13 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Cobourg Transit will also not be running on Labour Day Monday.
Port Hope
Municipal administrative buildings, the Hope Transfer Station, Transit Services, the Town Park Recreation Centre, and the Public Library branches will be closed on Monday, September 2, 2024 for the Labour Day Holiday.
The Jack Burger Sports Complex will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for adult and public swimming.
All municipal services will resume at their usual business hours on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Brighton
The Municipality of Brighton offices are closed Monday, September 2nd for the Labour Day holiday. Regular business hours resume Tuesday.

Beer Store – Lindsay – OPEN
Beer Store – Port Hope – CLOSED
Beer Store – Brighton – CLOSED
Canada Post is closed and there will be no deliveries on Monday.
GO Transit will follow it’s Sunday schedule.
Garbage collection in most areas will jump one day forward for the week and waste transfer stations will be closed.
Most grocery stores are also open and Cobourg Home Depot, Walmart and Northumberland Mall will be open.
Many Pharmacies are open, but best to call ahead to confirm.
