With the hopes of offering artists opportunities to blossom locally, a new not-for-profit community theatre has officially swung open its doors in Trenton.
The Quinte Little Theatre (QLT) is located at 55 King St. and is gearing up to launch its first two shows later this month.
“We are so excited to share this big idea with our community,” said Amber Lucas, QLT chair. “Our goal is to create a safe and inclusive home for creative individuals and provide opportunities for people to learn and develop their skills.”
According to a recent Quinte West Chamber of Commerce release, QLT offers a wide variety of live theatre experiences, including play readings, musical revues, comedy skits, workshops and camps.
These activities are designed to engage participants of all ages and skill levels, encouraging artistic exploration in a supportive and fun environment, reads the release.
“In addition to performances, QLT is dedicated to fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts through educational programs and community events.”
The theatre’s upcoming shows include “Rock Bottom: Happily Never After,” running Friday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Then, “the Quinte West Variety Show” is set for Friday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
