Northumberland Paramedics are launching a new fundraiser to bring holiday cheer to the community.
Their 2025 calendar, featuring therapy dog Ivy Joules, is on sale for $15 , plus HST, with proceeds going towards providing holiday meals for vulnerable community members.
Ivy, who supports paramedics after challenging calls and visits with community care clients, brings comfort and joy to many. Her name cleverly reflects key medical terms: “Ivy” represents intravenous therapy, and “Joules” refers to the unit of power used in defibrillators.
“Ivy has given our team so much joy over the past year. With this calendar, we want to share her warmth and positivity with the community and help spread some holiday cheer,” said Northumberland Paramedics Chief Susan Brown.
All proceeds from the calendar sales will help provide meals for community members who may be spending the holidays alone or in need of food support.
Pre-orders are being taken until Nov. 15, 2024, at Northumberland.ca/IvyCalendar.
Calendars will be available for pickup from Dec. 2 to 20 at the Northumberland County office in Cobourg.
